Can I catch any type of fish to enter for a Derby prize?

No.

As dictated in Rule 14, you must follow the Ontario Sportfishing Regulations for Zone 7.

Species tagged and entered into the Derby are restricted to Pike, Walleye, Lake Trout, Whitefish, Rainbow Trout, or Speckled Trout.

How many fish can I catch and enter in the Derby?

According to Rule No.15, the limit is entering 2 fish/day or a total of 4 for the entire Derby.

However, you must also follow the Ontario Sport Fishing Regulations and fish according to the type of licence that you have for each species of fish (i.e. Sport Fishing or Conservation Licence).

Do I need to Check-In and out at the lake I am fishing each Day?

Yes.

All participants MUST check in and out of each lake which they are fishing. This is MANDATORY and will be strictly enforced.

This is a safety issue for the Derby Board. We must know that all participants are off of the ice each night and that all participants are safe.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes.

Online registration is accepted using PayPal. Whatever form of payment that is linked to your PayPal account may be used.

Note that online registration costs $165.00.

However, tickets are also available locally (until Tuesday, February 27, 2024) For purchase by cash or credit cards (a $5.00 service fee will apply) at Canadian Tire (54 Broadway Ave) 705-856-2285.

If we haven't sold out, registrations can be purchased at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

I sent in my entry but I have not heard from you.

Your cancelled cheque is your confirmation that your derby entry was received and processed. You will receive all your derby materials when you register at the Michipicoten Memorial Community Centre on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM

If you selected the 'Send Email Confirmation' checkbox, you will have received an email with your participant number and your name and address. If you didn't receive this email, your email address may not have been included, or it is incorrect.

To get the confirmation email, use the Contact Us form, ensure that the email address is correct and we will send you the information.

Do you have to fish in assigned holes or can you fish anywhere?

You can fish anywhere On the assigned lakes within the marked boundaries. Please refer to the Rules And Regulations for restrictions on how close you can be to another participant.

Are there charts or maps available for the derby lakes?

You may be able to find a chart at one of the local outfitters.
